ALFRED ABERDAM

(1894-1963)

Alfred ABERDAM – painter. He was born in 1894 in Lviv. From 1913 to 1914, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, then (1921-1923) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow with T. Axentowicz and in the studio of A. Archipenko in Berlin (1922-1923). In 1923 he left for Paris, where he joined the circle of Ecole de Paris. He presented his works, among others, in Warsaw, Paris, London and Tel-Aviv. Together with Z. Menkes, J. Weingart and L. Weissberg, he created the “Group of Four”. He died in Paris in 1963.
