Exhibition catalog: Marian KASPERCZYK “BACK TO FRONT PAINTING”, which took place at the Roi Doré Gallery on July 4 – September 14, 2013.
From 1988 the artist works according to his own technique, called BACK TO FRONT (painting from back to front). It consists in squeezing acrylic paint through an unprimed canvas. The image is created on its back side. From the monochrome canvases made in this way, depending on the angle and the nature of the light falling on the picture, there are portraits, flowers, inscriptions or outlines of objects. The shapes emerge more intensely in dim light. In very bright lighting they disappear, making the image completely abstract and structured.
